The Eta Chi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has awarded scholarship aid to Black graduating students of Rockland County high schools since 1962. This year we will award upwards of $4,000 to such students.
To be considered for an award a student must complete the electronic pdf application or complete the form below and upload a transcript of his/her academic record. An eligible recipient must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. The winning recipients will be awarded based on a combination of academic promise, financial need, and character.
Further, such student must participate in an interview by our scholarship committee. This interview will be arranged with the student by us after we receive and review the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The application window will open on December 1, 2022. We must receive all applications no later than February 28, 2023 in order for an applicant to be considered. Finalists interviews are tentatively scheduled for the weeks of March 20 – 24 and March 27 – 31, 2023.
Please note, each scholarship award winner must submit proof of matriculation from their college or university on or prior to April 14, 2023. Failing to provide such proof will result in the applicant forfeiting the scholarship award.
